“I.Need.Coffee.”
The three words that had a deeper meaning than being just tired.
One day in a postpartum fog of mom brain, sleep deprivation and the baby blues, I realized that as much as it hurt to admit it, I wasn’t happy.
All of the baby books I read, the postpartum and labor checklists and plans I made, and the videos I watched all failed to prepare me for the hardest part of new motherhood — the emotions.
The doubts.
The second-guessing yourself if you are really meant to be a mom.
And how alone and stuck you can feel when it all hits you in an instant.
As a new mom in pure survival mode — trying to get through the sleepless nights, figure out how to keep the house at least somewhat presentable, and keep my head above the messy waters of the many emotions I was swimming in — I coped the best way any sleepless mother does…coffee.
Lots and lots of coffee.
But somehow on that day as I looked at my baby boy who was only a couple of months old at the time, the words I spoke out loud didn’t feel so light-hearted and sarcastic as I expected them to.
The words, “I need coffee” felt more like a plead for help.
Like my soul was forcing my mouth to admit that I wanted more.
I needed to figure out a way to enjoy this new life of mine, specifically motherhood...and to stop surviving, but to thrive.
Settling for being unfulfilled in motherhood, going through the motions and feeling like I had lost myself was suddenly not an option any longer.
My son needed his mom to be happy, to be energetic and to find her way in life again so she could show up in motherhood with intention and maybe just one less cup of coffee.
So that’s exactly what I did, and continue to do each and every day.
And I want to help you do the same thing!
Do you want to feel more fulfilled in motherhood while also investing in yourself unapologetically?
Are you ready to show up in your life with intention and confidence, knowing you don’t have to do this alone?
What if you had someone who could show you how to simplify your life to make more time for yourself — and without the mental load or Mom Guilt that we are taught is normal? (BTW, we’re about to create a whole new normal for moms everywhere!)
I know…it sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?
Which is why what I do here at Mommy Hates Mornings is so important.
I show new moms just like you how to break through their barriers and love who they are again, to grow their identity outside of motherhood, and all while still kicking some major ass at home and as a parent.
It can be done, and you can rock all things motherhood, personal growth, self-care, and life.
Now is your time to stop surviving, and to finally thrive.
We’re in this together, and I can’t wait to see the incredible things you’re about to make happen.
