I’m so glad you are here!
If you came here looking for help on not losing your own identity in motherhood, practical tips to better manage your stress and emotions as a new Mom, or if you are wondering how to be more efficient and productive in life with a baby, then you are in the right place!
Or maybe you just want some friendly chit-chat with a young, first-time Mom like you, and need some inspiration and connection when the days are long and lonely.
I have been there, and to be totally upfront with you — it’s something that I struggle with on an on-going basis.
Being a mom is hard. But I believe that when the right people surround and support us, it’s a bit easier.
That’s the mission here at Mommy Hates Mornings — to be real and unfiltered, honest and helpful, friendly and encouraging.
So make yourself at home!
THE THREE WORDS THAT INSPIRED THIS BLOG.
When I finally reached the point where I realized that I was barely making it through each day (thanks Postpartum Depression) I knew something needed to change. I love coffee as much as anyone-but my life needed a bit more effort on my part than just consuming a cup (or five) of Joe and calling it good.
I needed to figure out a way to enjoy this new life of mine, specifically motherhood.
I needed to figure out a system to be able to get the dishes done and have clean laundry (who cares about folding though, right?) and be able to care for my high needs baby, my other high needs baby (the furry one), my husband, and myself all at the same time.
So, through countless hours of research, lots of trial and error, and what feels like a constant learning curve, I have learned some things that I’d like to share with you.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT IF YOU HANG AROUND
In a nutshell: Honest talk on motherhood for first-time moms who are struggling with personal growth and need some practical advice for managing their stress and their time.
It’s not easy, but you can be a great

while learning about yourself and growing your own identity.
I want to show you how.
You may not feel like you have many people in your corner, but I am!
I have seen some dark days with Postpartum Depression, but I have also experienced the life-changing joys of motherhood and of being a wife, and I know that you can, too. I want to help you through those dark moments and get you to the place of peace and contentment where you belong.
So please sit down and relax with me and we will drink our coffee and chat as long as you need, Momma friend!
Still wondering a bit more about me?
I’ll start from the beginning…
My name is Courtney and I have a few passions; first being coffee. There is hardly ever a time when I don’t have a coffee cup in my right hand, and if there isn’t one, it may not be safe to talk to me yet. *wink*
Second, my little family. Together my husband and I have a happy and healthy little boy and our loyal and spirited German Shepherd baby girl. We call her Sasha the Sassy Pup and if you were to meet her, you’d quickly realize why!
We all live in a teeny-tiny town in Indiana and we wouldn’t trade it for the world!
When we aren’t fixing up our 1800’s farm-house-turned-town-house, or cleaning up dishes and laundry (how does a family of three create so many messes anyway?!) you can find us enjoying baby cuddles and an inside game of fetch with the dog while watching The Office.
And lastly, as I have recently discovered, I also love helping moms like you (and like me).
The first-time and young moms.
The type A mom’s who need some inspiration and motivation more than we care to admit.
The moms who are tired of the overwhelming tasks of motherhood and homemaking and finances and trying to be good to our partners — all while trying to stay sane and not lose our own identity and voice.
I’m on this journey with you, and I know we can be the badasses we were meant to be! Sometimes we just need a little push in the right direction!
